Performance Improvements
- Added Occlusion culling to only render what is in front of the player.
- Enabled GPU instancing to improve how materials are rendered.
- Reduced the texture size of various textures to reduce memory usage.
- Enabled texture streaming so that textures can be rendered at a lower resolution when viewed from far away.
- Robot pieces from defeated enemies now disappear after a few seconds which reduces the strain on the physics engine.
- Tweaked lighting and shadow settings for both PC and Quest 2 to improve performance.
- Switched bullets from being collision based to using raycasts, this should make hits register more consistently.
- Various other performance improvements
Players should notice a significant improvement in performance after this update
QOL
- Interaction lines now only appear when aiming at an object that can be interacted with
- Added an option for switching between sitting and standing mode in the options menu
- The options menu now saves between play sessions and should no longer reset
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the start menu would not face the player on start up in the quest 2 build
- Tutorial videos are no longer broken
